mCube has received $37 million in Series C financing. The investors included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, MediaTek, iD Ventures America, DAG Ventures, Keytone Ventures, SK Telecom (China) Ventures and Korea Investment Partners. Clarizen has closed a $35 million venture funding round led by Goldman Sachs & Co. Existing investors also participated in the round, including Benchmark Capital, Carmel Ventures, DAG Ventures, Opus Capital, and Vintage Investment Partners.

Legal marketplace Avvo picks up $37.5 mln

Avvo said Tuesday that it has raised $37.5 million in financing. Coatue Management led the round with participation from Benchmark Capital, Ignition Partners and DAG Ventures. Based in Seattle, Avvo is a legal marketplace for consumers and lawyers.

According to a blog post on its site, Wealthfront has closed $35 million in funding. Index Ventures and Ribbit Capital led the round with participation from investors that included The Social+Capital Partnership, Greylock Partners and DAG Ventures. ClearStory Data said Monday that it has received $21 million in Series B funding. DAG Ventures led he round with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Google Ventures, Khosla Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Also, the firm has named Shona Brown, a former senior vice president at Google, to its board of directors. Based in Palo Alto, Calif., ClearStory Data is a provider of data intelligence solutions.

NTT invests in VC-backed Quantenna Communications

NTT Finance Corp, which is part of the NTT Group, has made an undisclosed investment in Quantenna Communications. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Quantenna Communications is a provider of Wi-Fi solutions. Its backers include DAG Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Sigma Partners, Southern Cross Venture Partners, Telefonica Ventures and Venrock.

Atara Biotherapeutics secures Series B funds

Drug development company Atara Biotherapeutics has secured $38.5 million in initial closings under its Series B financing. In this round, investors Amgen Ventures, Celgene Corporation and EcoR1 Capital joined existing investors Alexandria Venture Investments, DAG Ventures, Domain Associates and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

FireEye Files To Go Public

FireEye Inc. said it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to go public, though it has not disclosed the number of shares it will sell or their anticipated price range. The company is backed by Sequoia Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, DAG Ventures, JAFCO Technology Partners and SVB Financial Group.

Huddle in Partnership With Softcat

Huddle has entered into a partnership with UK reseller Softcat. Huddle provides next generation content collaboration for government and enterprises and is backed by venture capital firms DAG Ventures, Eden Ventures, Matrix Partners and Jafco Ventures.

Newly Public, Kleiner-Backed RMG Networks on Why It Chose a Reverse Merger

As of this morning, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has a new, publicly traded company in its portfolio: San Francisco’s RMG Networks, a digital signage media company that has raised $20 million from Kleiner, DAG Ventures, and National Cinemedia since its 2006 founding. The company didn’t stage an IPO; rather, it completed a reverse merger with the blank check company in a maneuver that landed it on the Nasdaq.

YuMe Acquires Crowd Science

YuMe, a provider of digital brand advertising software and services, has acquired Crowd Science, an audience targeting technology company. YuMe is backed by Accel Partners, BV Capital, DAG Ventures, Intel Capital, Khosla Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung Ventures, Translink Capital and WestSummit Capital.

Convertro Closes $5m Series B

Convertro has closed a $5 million Series B round of funding. The funding round, which was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and DAG Ventures, will support the ramp up of Convertro’s sales and marketing organizations in New York City, Asia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Cisco To Acquire Meraki For $1.2B

Cisco Systems said it would acquire privately held Meraki Inc., a San Francisco cloud networking startup with investors including Sequoia Capital, Google and DAG Ventures. Cisco will pay about $1.2 billion in cash and retention-based incentives. Meraki’s offerings will expand Cisco’s product portfolio in the midmarket.

Glassdoor Raises Fresh $20M, Led by DAG Ventures

Sausalito, Calif.-based Glassdoor, a five-year-old online career and jobs site, has raised $20 million in venture financing led by DAG Ventures, with participation from existing investors Benchmark Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures and Battery Ventures. This new round brings Glassdoor’s total capital raised to $42.2 million.
