Thrive Market snags $30 mln Series A

Thrive Market, an ecommerce site that sells healthy organic products, has raised $30 million in Series A funding. Greycroft Partners and e.ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Scripps Network and the founders of the Honest Company, TOMS Shoes, Vitamin Water, Stonyfield Farms and Zulily. In conjunction with the funding, Dana Settle, a partner and co-founder of Greycroft, has been added to Thrive Market’s board.


Azimo raises additional $20 mln

Azimo said Tuesday that raised another $20 million in financing led by Frog Capital. Also participating were MCI Investments and existing investors such as e.ventures and Greycroft Partners. London-based Azimo provides online and smartphone-based money transfers. FT Partners advised on the round.


Frog Capital leads Series B round for Azimo

UK-based digital money transfer Azimo has secured $20 million in Series B funding. Frog Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included MCI Investments, e.ventures and Greycroft Partners. FT Partners and Dorsey and Whitney advised Azimo on the funding.


Auctionata grabs $45 mln Series C

Online auction house Auctionata has secured $45 million in Series C funding. MCI Management led the round with participation from other investors that included Hearst Ventures, Kreos Capital, Yuan Capital, Earlybird, e.ventures, Kite Ventures, Raffay Group, TA Ventures, Bright Capital, REN Invest and Holtzbrinck Ventures. GP Bullhound advised Auctionata on the transaction.

NEA leads Series B1 round for Nginx

Nginx, a San Francisco-based open source web server developer, has closed $20 million in Series B1 round funding. New Enterprise Associates led the round with participation from other investors that included e.ventures, Runa Capital, Index Ventures and Nginx CEO Gus Robertson.


Devonshire Investors leads $12 mln B round for Recurly

Recurly said Monday it has closed a $12 million Series B round led by Devonshire Investors, the private investment arm of Fidelity Investments. Greycroft Partners and existing investors, Polaris Partners and e.ventures, also participated. Recurly, of San Francisco, is a pay-as-you-go subscription billing platform.


Segment scores $15 mln Series A

Customer data hub Segment has received $15 million in Series A funding. Accel Partners led the round with participation from previous backers Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and e.ventures. In addition to the funding, Accel partner Vas Natarajan has been added to Segment’s board of directors.


Science acquires VC-backed PlayHaven

Science Inc. said Wednesday that it has acquired PlayHaven, a mobile game ad network. No financial terms were disclosed. PlayHaven’s backers included GGV Capital, Granite Global Venture Capital and e.ventures.


Video platform JW Player nets $20 mln Series C

Online video platform JW Player has received $20 million in Series C funding. Greycroft Growth and Greenspring Associates led the round with participation from Cue Ball Capital and e.ventures. According to the firm, the capital infusion will be used for growth, expansion and product development.


Lastline picks up $10 mln

Lastline has secured $10 million in funding. The investors were Dell Ventures, Presidio Ventures, Redpoint Ventures and e.ventures. Headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., Lastline is a malware defense platform provider.


Greycroft leads $5 mln funding in Russell Simmons venture

Greycroft Partners led a $5 million Series A funding round in ALL DEF DIGITAL, a digital consumer entertainment brand co-founded by Russell Simmons. Other participants in the funding round included Advancit Capital, Nu Horizons Investments and e.ventures.


Parking app SpotHero nabs $4.5 mln Series A

SpotHero has closed $4.5 million in Series A funding. The investors included Chicago Ventures, Bullpen Capital, Battery Ventures, OCA Ventures, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, Lightbank, G2T3V, e.ventures, Draper Associates and 500 Startups. In conjunction with the funding, Mike Gamson of LinkedIn has been added to SpotHero’s board of directors. Headquartered in Chicago, SpotHero is an on-demand parking app.


Soldsie fetches $4 mln Series A

Soldsie, a San Francisco-based social selling service, said Thursday that it has secured $4 million in Series A funding. First Round Capital led the round with participation from SoftTechVC, Lerer Ventures, Correlation Ventures, Great Oaks Ventures, e.Ventures, 500 Startups and various angels.


The RealReal nets $20.3 mln

According to a Form D SEC filing, The RealReal has raised $20.3 million in a targeted $31 million round. Based in San Francisco, The RealReal is a luxury resale site whose previous backers include InterWest Partners, Canaan Partners, e.ventures, Greycroft Partners, Novel TMT Ventures, Suzy Welch and Panarea Capital.

TVSMILES secures $7 Million Series A Funding

TVSMILES, a loyalty program for TV advertising, has secured seven million dollars in a series-A round of financing. The start-up is receiving the fresh money from French fund Ventech S.A., which had already invested in TVSMILES. Also investing is the international venture fund e.ventures. German Startups Group, Brandenburg Ventures, Magix AG as well as other angel investors are also reinvesting.
