Silver Lake is near a deal to buy First Advantage at more than $1.5 billion, Reuters reported. An announcement could come as early as this week, the story said. Symphony Technology Group acquired First Advantage in 2010 for $265 million.
Charles Schwab is in talks to buy smaller rival TD Ameritrade, CNBC reported. The $26 billion deal could be announced Thursday, the New York Times said. Schwab and TD Ameritrade are the two biggest publicly traded discount brokers, the story said.
PayPal Holdings Inc said Nov. 20 that it agreed to buy Honey Science Corp for about $4 billion. Honey, of Los Angeles, is a technology platform for shopping and rewards. Honey has raised $37.67 million in venture funding, PitchBook said.
SurePrep LLC said Nov. 21 that Bregal Sagemount has acquired a minority stake in the company. Financial terms weren’t announced. SurePrep provides tax automation software and software-powered services to the professional tax return preparation market.
