Inturn, a platform provider that allows brands and retailers to sell and buy excess inventory, has closed $9.7 million in Series A funding. Novel TMT Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Forerunner Ventures, Lerer Hippeau Ventures and T5 Capital. In addition to the funding, Inturn has added Andrew Fine, of Novel TMT Ventures, to its board of directors.

Reese Witherspoon’s retail brand Draper James nabs $10 mln Series A

Southern-inspired retail brand Draper James, which was founded by Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. Forerunner Ventures led the round with participation from Stone Canyon Industries and return backer JH Partners. In addition to the funding, Kirsten Green, a founder and managing director of Forerunner Ventures, has been added to Draper James’ board of directors.
