Drone platform provider Skyward announces $4.1 mln seed expansion

SkyWard, a Portland, Ore.-based company that has developed a software management system for the dispatching, tracking and logging of commercial drone flights, announced it has raised a $4.1 million round in expansion seed from Draper Associates, Founders Co-Op, Norwest Venture Partners, Techstars Ventures, Verizon Ventures, and Voyager Capital. Voyager prevously led a $1.5 million seed round in July 2014, according to Thomson Reuters. David Famolari of Verizon Ventures and Ari Newman of Techstars Ventures were named observers on Skyward’s board of directors.


Bluecore attracts $6 mln Series A

Bluecore, formerly known as TriggerMail, has raised $6 million in Series A funding, the company confirmed in a blog post on its site. FirstMark Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Felicis Ventures, Founders Co-op and Bullet Time Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Amish Jani has been added to Bluecore’s board of directors. Based in New York City, Bluecore provides email marketing services for ecommerce firms. Shippable snags $8 mln in round led by Madrona Venture

Shippable has closed $8 million in Series A funding. Madrona Venture Group led the round, with participation from return backers that included Paul Allen’s Vulcan Capital, Divergent Ventures and Founders Co-Op. In conjunction with the funding, Tim Porter, managing director at Madrona Venture Group, has been added to Shippable’s board. Based in Seattle, Shippable helps developers speed up software deployment.


Trilogy Equity Partners leads $7 mln round for Jobaline

Jobaline.com has closed $7 million in Series B funding. Trilogy Equity Partners led the round with participation from Madrona Venture Group, Rudy Gadre and Founders Co-op. In addition to the funding, Mikal Thomsen, co-founder and partner at Trilogy Equity Partners, has been added to Jobaline’s board of directors. Jobaline is a mobile and bilingual hourly-jobs marketplace.


IPad App Developer Haiku Deck Snags $3M

Haiku Deck, which makes an iPad app to make it simple to create and share presentations,announced it has raised $3 million in a Series A round. Trilogy Partnership led the round, which included participation from Madrona Venture Group, Founders Co-op and individual investors, including Sarah Leary (co-founder of Nextdoor). Haiku Deck had previously raised less than $1 million in seed funding.


Thinkfuse to be Acquired by Salesforce

AppFog, provider of a cloud-based PHP PaaS hosting service, has added $8 million in new funding. Ignition Partners led the Series B round, with participation from return backers Madrona Venture Group, First Round Capital and Founders Co-Op. The company has raised a total of $9.8 million, and will use the new money to expand its development team. AppFog is based in Portland. As a result of the round, Frank Artale, managing director at Ignition, will join the board.
