Fulcrum Capital raises $344 mln for fifth fund

Fulcrum Capital Partners Inc has closed its fifth fund at $344 million. Fulcrum Capital Partners Fund V will back Canadian middle-market companies with a focus in manufacturing, resource services, business services, distribution and logistics and consumer products. The fund will make investments between $15 and $35 million.

Fulcrum Capital exits Nuheat Industries

Fulcrum Capital Partners said Thursday it has sold Nuheat Industries Ltd. to Pentair plc. Financial terms weren’t announced. Nuheat, of Vancouver, makes lectric radiant floor heating systems. Lazard Middle Market LLC advised Nuheat.

Fulcrum Capital invests in Innovative Steam Technologies

Fulcrum Capital Partners said Thursday it has invested in Innovative Steam Technologies via a carve-out. Financial terms weren’t announced. Cambridge, Ontario-based Innovative Steam, which designs, engineers and makes and installs proprietary heat recovery steam generators for power generation, was a subsidiary of Aecon Group Inc.


Fulcrum collects C$180 mln for fifth PE fund

Fulcrum has raised C$180 million for its fifth private equity fund. The target is C$300. Fulcrum Capital Partners V is backed by nine LPs and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2015. The pool is focused on investing in lower middle-market Canadian firms.

Fulcrum invests in Weatherhaven

Fulcrum Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in Weatherhaven Global Resources. No financial terms were disclosed. Headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia, Weatherhaven is a provider of redeployable shelter systems.

Fulcrum Closes Fourth Fund

Middle market Canadian private equity firm Fulcrum Capital Partners has reached a final closing of its fourth private equity fund bringing committed capital to C$193 million.
