NBCUniversal to invest $200 mln in Vox Media

NBCUniversal said Wednesday it has agreed to invest $200 million in Vox Media. New York-based Vox, a digital media company, is backed by Accel Partners, Comcast Ventures, Khosla Ventures, and General Atlantic. NBCUniversal is a unit of Comcast Corp.


General Atlantic acquires stake in Aimbridge Hospitality

General Atlantic has made an undisclosed investment in Aimbridge Hospitality, a hotel investment and management firm. Lee Equity Partners is also a backer of Aimbridge. Moelis & Company and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP advised Aimbridge while Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP did likewise for General Atlantic.


General Atlantic buys majority stake in EN Engineering

General Atlantic has acquired a majority stake in EN Engineering from CIVC Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. Houlihan Lokey advised EN Engineering on the transaction while Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP advised General Atlantic. Based in Warrenville, Illinois, EN Engineering is a provider of engineering, consulting and automation services to pipeline companies, utilities and industrial customers.


GA takes big stake in Too Faced Cosmetics

General Atlantic is acquiring a majority stake in Too Faced Cosmetics, a global beauty brand, from Weston Presidio. As part of General Atlantic’s investment, beauty industry veteran Ken Stevens will join Too Faced Cosmetics as chairman. Andrew Crawford and Andrew Ferrer, both of General Atlantic, are also joining the company’s board. Too Faced Cosmetics’ founders and senior leaders will retain significant ownership in the company.


General Atlantic promotes five

General Atlantic has promoted Graves Tompkins to managing director and Chris Caulkin, Tony Li, Peter Munzig and Paul Stamas to principal. Tompkins and Stamas are based in New York while Caulkin, Li and Munzig are working in the firm’s London, Hong Kong and Palo Alto, Calif. offices, respectively.
