Adobe buys VC-backed Mixamo

Adobe has acquired San Francisco-based Mixamo, an online platform for designers to customize and create 3D character animation, the former announced in a blog post on its site. No financial terms were disclosed. Mixamo’s backers included Granite Ventures and Keynote Ventures.



HireVue racks up $45 mln

Team Acceleration platform HireVue has raised $45 million in funding. Technology Crossover Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Sequoia Capital, Granite Ventures, Investor Growth Capital, Peterson Ventures and Rose Park Advisors’ Disruptive Innovation Fund. In addition to the funding, Nari Ansari, a principal at TCV, has been added to HireVue’s board of directors.

Cloud security automation company HyTrust picks up $33 mln

Mountain View, California-based cloud security automation company HyTrust Inc has raised $33 million in funding. Accelerate-IT Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Vanedge Capital, Epic Ventures, Granite Ventures, Trident Capital, Cisco, Fortinet, Intel Corp and VMware. In addition to the funding, HyTrust has added Brian Nugent, a general partner at AITV, to its board of directors while AITV co-founder and General Partner Bill Malloy III, and Moe Kermani, a partner at Vanedge Capital, have been named as board observers.

Agilene pulls in $4.3 mln

Mount Laurel, New Jersey-based Agilence, a provider of next-generation exception reporting solutions for retail loss prevention and operations, has raised $4.3 million in funding. Laurel Capital Partners led the round with participation from Drayton Park Capital, Granite Ventures, Next Stage Capital and Aster Capital.


Fastback Networks pulls in $15 mln Series C

San Jose, California-based infrastructure firm Fastback Networks has received $15 million in Series C funding. Harmony Partners led the round with participation from return backers Foundation Capital, Granite Ventures, Juniper Networks and Matrix Partners.


Anaplan raises $100 mln Series D led by DFJ Growth

Planning platform business Anaplan has completed a Series D round of $100 million in financing, bringing total investment in the company to $150 million. The round was led by DFJ Growth with participation from Brookside Capital, Coatue Management, Sands Capital Management, and Workday and Anaplan’s current investors, Granite Ventures, Meritech Capital Partners,, and Shasta Ventures.

RGB partners with Conax

RGB Networks, a provider of scalable multiscreen IP video delivery solutions, has today announced its new partnership with Conax, a provider of solutions for securing multi-device and digital video content distribution. RGB Networks is backed by Accel Partners, Comcast Interactive, Focus Ventures, Granite Ventures, Institutional Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, and Mitsui & Co. Venture Partners.

Martini Media Appoints Chief Tech Officer and VP Eastern Sales

Digital media and content platform Martini Media has appointed Gagan Saksena as chief technology officer. Additionally, the company has hired Scott Graham as VP of Eastern sales. Headquartered in San Francisco, Martini Media is backed by Venrock, Reed Elsevier Ventures, Silicon Valley Bank and Granite Ventures.

Rewarder Launches and Closes Series A

Social marketplace Rewarder has announced its public launch after an initial phase of private beta testing. The business has also has closed a $7 million Series A funding round led by Granite Ventures and Radar Partners, which also includes leading angels such as Ron Conway, David Lee, and Kenny Lerer.

Aspen Avionics Closes Funding Round

Aspen Avionics has closed a $12.8 million round of financing. All of Aspen’s previous investors, including Granite Ventures, Sun Mountain Capital, Signal Peak Ventures, EPIC Ventures, Fort Washington Capital Partners and New Mexico Community Capital participated.

Pelican Imaging Hires President, CEO and VP Engineering

Pelican Imaging Corporation, a venture-backed computational imaging business, has appointed a new top executive and new vice president of engineering. Christopher Pickett will serve as Pelican Imaging’s president and CEO, while Purnam Sheth will take on the role of vice president of engineering.

YottaMark Raises $24M From Westbury, Fairhaven, ATA, Thomvest, Granite

YottaMark Inc. said it raised $24 million in a Series D round led by Westbury Partners and joined by new investor Fairhaven Capital. Anaplan Closes on $11.4M

Anaplan, a developer of planning and enterprise performance applications, has added $11.4 million in fresh capital. New investors Granite Ventures and Shasta Ventures contributed to the Series B round, as did existing backers. Standish O’Grady, a managing director of Granite Ventures, and Ravi Mohan, a managing director of Shasta Ventures, join the company’s board. San Francisco-based Anaplan was formed in 2008 and has raised a total of $17.5 million.

Symplified Seals $20M Series C

Ignition Partners led a $20 million Series C round for cloud identity technology company Symplified. As a result, Cameron Myhrvold of Ignition Partners has joined its board of directors. Existing investors Allegis Capital, Granite Ventures and Quest Software also participated in the financing, which brings the company’s total funding to $38.8 million.
