Ethos-led group invests $150 mln in Eaton Towers

Ethos Private Equity said Tuesday that it led a consortium to invest in Eaton Towers. The group includes Hamilton Lane and HarbourVest. The consortium contributed $150 million of the $350 million new equity raised by Eaton, a provider of shared telecoms towers across Africa.


SoftBank Capital leads $50 mln round for Kony

Kony said Tuesday that it has closed $50 million in financing. SoftBank Capital led the round with participation from Insight Venture Partners, Telstra Ventures, Georgian Partners, Delta-V and Hamilton Lane. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, Kony is a provider of mobile and multichannel application platforms.


Hamilton Lane announces promotions and hires in Asia

Global private equity asset management firm Hamilton Lane has promoted Tomoko Kitao to a director in its Tokyo office. Also, the firm has named Masayoshi Yazawa as a senior advisor responsible for leading business development efforts in Japan. And, in its Hong Kong office, Hamilton Lane has promoted Josh Jacob to principal, Brenda Lau to vice president and Collwyn Tan to senior associate on the co-investment team. Also, in Hong Kong, the firm has added Steve An to its business development team.


Hamilton Lane closes $426.8 mln for eighth fund-of-funds

Hamilton Lane said Monday that it has raised $426.8 million in the final close of its eighth fund-of-funds. The pool’s original target was $400 million. According to the firm, its LP base includes public pension funds, Taft-Hartley pension plans, endowments, foundations and other institutions.


Hamilton Lane closes first Brazil fund-of-funds

Global private equity asset management firm Hamilton Lane has raised approximately $63 million in the final close of its first Brazil fund-of-funds.The pool will focus on healthcare, education, natural resources, energy and essential consumer goods sectors in Brazil.

Hamilton Lane adds Asia senior professionals

Hamilton Lane has appointed Mingchen Xia as principal on the fund investment team and Yen Li Chew as vice president in the business development group. The new hires will be based in Hong Kong and will further strengthen the firm’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
