NCino racks up $29 mln Series B

Wilmington, North Carolina-based nCino, a provider of cloud-based bank operating solutions for the financial services sector, has closed $29 million in Series B funding. Insight Venture Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included return backers Wellington Management Company LLP and former Morgan Stanley Chairman and CEO John Mack. In conjunction with the funding, Jeff Horing, a managing director at Insight Venture Partners, has been added to nCino’s board of directors.


Insight Venture leads $40 mln pre-IPO funding in Instructure

Insight Venture Partners has led a $40 million Series E funding round in Instructure, which makes educational software. Other investors in the funding round include Bessemer Venture Partners and EPIC Ventures. Instructure has raised $90 million to date. The pre-IPO investment will allow Instructure to launch Bridge, a cloud-based corporate learning and engagement platform.

VC-backed Syncsort completes William Data acquisition

Syncsort has closed its buy of UK-based William Data Systems, a maker of advanced network monitoring and security software products. No financial terms were disclosed. Syncsort’s backers include Insight Venture Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs and Georgian Partners.


Insight Venture Partners to acquire E2open for about $273 mln

Insight Venture Partners has agreed to buy E2open Inc for about $273 million. BofA Merrill Lynch is serving as financial advisor to E2open on the transaction. Based in Foster City, California, E2open is a provider of cloud-based solutions for collaborative planning and execution across global trading networks.


Skytap snaps up $35 mln in Insight Venture-led round

Skytap has raised $35 million in funding in a round led by Insight Venture Partners. The other investors included OpenView Venture Partners, Ignition Partners, Madrona Venture Group and Washington Research Foundation. Based in Seattle, Skytap is a provider of on-demand Environments as a Service.


Insight Venture Partners backs Wealth-X

Wealth-X has secured undisclosed funding from Insight Venture Partners. Portico Capital Securities advised Wealth-X on the transaction. Also, Euan Menzies and Matthew Gatto of Insight Venture Partners have been added to Wealth-X’s board of directors. Headquartered in Singapore, Wealth-X is a provider of sales, marketing and compliance solutions to companies and nonprofits targeting the ultra high net worth market.


FFL exits public safety firm TriTech

FFL has sold its stake in TriTech to Insight Venture Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in San Diego, TriTech is a provider of public safety software solutions.


Insight Venture Partners backs 5nine Software

5nine Software has received an undisclosed amount of funding. Insight Venture Partners and the founders of Veeam Software led the round. In conjunction with the funding, Michael Triplett, managing director at Insight Venture Partners and Ratmir Timashev, founder and CEO of Veeam Software, have been added to 5nine Software’s board of directors. Based in Boston, 5nine Software is a Microsoft Cloud virtualization management and security provider.


FilmTrack scores $10 mln Series B, buys Dashbox

FilmTrack has raised $10 million in Series B funding. Previous investors Insight Venture Partners and Dave Goldberg, founder of music licensing software platform Dashbox, led the round with participation from FilmTrack founders Jason and Stephen Kassin. In conjunction with the funding, Goldberg has been added to FilmTrack’s board of directors. Also, FilmTrack has acquired Dashbox. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Studio City, Calif, FilmTrack is a provider of content and rights management for the film and television industry.


Drillinginfo taps banks for an IPO, say sources-Reuters

Drillinginfo Inc, a company that gathers and manages data used in oil and gas exploration, has selected underwriters to lead a potential initial public offering that could value the firm at more than $500 million, sources told Reuters.


Permira to acquire Metalogix

Permira has agreed to buy Metalogix, a provider of content infrastructure management software. No financial terms were disclosed. After the deal closes, Metalogix backers Insight Venture Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners will exit their stakes in the company.


Mirantis raises $100 mln in funding

Mirantis, which said it is eyeing an IPO in 2016, announced it has raised $100 million in Series B funding from Insight Venture PartnersAugust Capital and existing investors Intel Capital, WestSummit Capital Management, Ericsson, and Sapphire Ventures (formerly known as SAP Ventures). As part of the funding, Alex Crisses, managing director at Insight Venture Partners, has joined the company board. Mountain View, California-based Mirantis, which provides OpenStack cloud and open source application infrastructure, previously raised $20 million.


VC-backed Delivery Hero buys Subdelivery

German online food ordering platform Delivery Hero has acquired Brazilian online delivery service Subdelivery. No financial terms were disclosed. Delivery Hero’s backers include Insight Venture Partners, Kite Ventures and Vostok Nafta.
