NEA leads Series C round for Coursera

Online education platform Coursera has raised $49.5 in Series C funding. New Enterprise Associates led the round with participation from other investors that included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, International Finance Corporation, Times Internet, GSV Asset Management and Learn Capital.

Organica Water takes in $9.1 mln Series C

Organica Water, a provider of wastewater treatment and recycling solutions, has closed $9.1 million in Series C funding. XPV Capital Corporation led the round with participation from other investors that included Idinvest Partners, International Finance Corporation and Gamma Capital Partners. In addition to the funding, Khalil Malouf, managing director of XPV and Julien Mialaret, investment director of Idinvest, have been added to Organica’s board of directors.

Planet Labs rakes in $118 mln Series C

Planet Labs has raised $118 million in its Series C funding, it was announced in a blog post on its site. International Finance Corp, a World Bank Group unit, led the round in the second closing. Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners taps IFC’s Wilton as MD

Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners has hired David Wilton as a managing director. In his new role, Wilton will focus on private equity impact investing. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Wilton worked at International Finance Corp. where he served as chief investment officer and manager of its global private equity arm.

National Collateral Management Raising $22.4M

India’s National Collateral Management Services Ltd will raise 1.01 billion rupees ($22.4million) by selling shares to six private equity investors, including India Agri Businness Fund and International Finance Corp., Reuters reported. The money will be used to set up new warehouses and fund growth, the company said.

KKR Leads Magma Fincorp Investment

Private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. LP and International Finance Corp. led a Rs 4400 million investment in Magma Fincorp LTD, the non-deposit taking non-banking finance company. Ernst & Young (Advisory) and Wadia Ghandy advised Magma on the transaction. Ernst & Young (Transaction Advisory), McKinsey & Co., Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, AZB Partners and Kotak Mahindra Capital advised KKR on the transaction.
