GGV Capital, Icon Ventures lead $25 mln funding in Synack

GGV Capital and Icon Ventures (formerly Jafco Ventures) have co-led a $25 million Series B funding round in Synack, an online security startup. Other participants in the funding round include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Google Ventures, Greylock Partners, Allegis Capital, Derek Smith, chief executive of Shape Security, Ray Rothrock, CEO of Redseal Networks and Timothy Eades, CEO of vArmour. Synack has raised a total of $34 million to date. Glenn Solomon, managing partner at GGV Capital, and Tom Mawhinney, GP at Icon Ventures, will join Synack’s board of directors.

Ionic Security rings up $40.1 mln Series C

Atlanta-based data protection platform Ionic Security has raised $40.1 million in Series C funding. Meritech Capital Partners led the round with participation from other investors that include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Google Ventures, Tech Operators and Jafco Ventures.

Teladoc snags $50 mln in round led by Jafco

Dallas-based telehealth provider Teladoc said Tuesday that it has secured $50 million in funding. Jafco Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included FLAG Capital Management, Greenspring Associates, Mellon, QuestMark Partners, Cardinal Partners, HLM Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, New Capital Partners and Trident Capital.

Jafco Ventures raises $260 mln for fifth fund

Jafco Ventures, which invests in mid-stage tech firms, said Thursday that it has closed $260 million for its fifth fund. According to the firm, the pool’s LP base consists of institutional investors, endowments, foundations and family offices.

Kleiner Perkins, Jafco invest in big data startup Zephyr Health

Zephyr Health announced it has raised a $15 million Series B funding round that was co-led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Jafco Ventures. The San Francisco-based company, which provides companies in the life sciences industry a big data analytics platform, previously raised $1 million in funding from a private individual investor. As part of the recent round, Brook Byers, general partner at Kleiner Perkins, and Joe Horowitz, managing general partner at Jafco, have joined the board.

Twitter to acquire mobile advertising company MoPub

Mobile ad company MoPub said it has agreed to be acquired by Twitter. No financial details were provided. MoPub raised a $12 million Series B round from investors including Jafco Ventures, Accel Partners and Harrison Metal Capita in September 2012.

Huddle in Partnership With Softcat

Huddle has entered into a partnership with UK reseller Softcat. Huddle provides next generation content collaboration for government and enterprises and is backed by venture capital firms DAG Ventures, Eden Ventures, Matrix Partners and Jafco Ventures.

Cloud Networking Startup Pertino Secures $20M

Pertino, which develops software for managing wide area networks over the cloud, has raised $20 million in a Series B round led by new investor Jafco Ventures, with Norwest Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners also participating. Pertino raised nearly $9 million in a Series A deal from Norwest and Lightspeed in April 2012.

Awarepoint Picks up $14M

Awarepoint Corp., the real-time location system services provider for healthcare clients, has added $14 million in funding.
