PE-owned BDCA Adviser completes Keating Investments acquisition

Keating Investments, the investment advisor to pre-IPO investor Keating Capital, has completed the sale of its equity interests to AR Capital-backed BDCA Adviser. No financial terms were disclosed. As a result of the transaction, Keating Investments has changed its name to BDCA Venture Adviser and Keating Capital has rebranded itself as BDCA Venture. Also, BDCA Venture will continue to to be listed on the NASDAQ and begin trading Wednesday under the new ticker symbol “BDCV.”


Car pricing site TrueCar files for IPO

TrueCar said Friday that it has filed for an IPO. The number of shares that will be sold as well as its pricing terms have yet to be set. Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Securities will serve as lead underwriters. TrueCar is a car pricing information site. Its backers include Vulcan Capital, Keating Capital, GSV Asset Management, Passport Capital, International Investment House and Allen & Company.

TrueCar, a company that provides car pricing data to consumers, has raised $200 million in debt and equity financing, Reuters reported Wednesday. The company is backed by GR Match, McCombs Family Partners, DealerTrack, Keating Capital, GSV Asset Management, Passport Capital, International Investment House and Allen & Company. Silicon Valley Bank arranged the debt portion of the funding for TrueCar, which is based in Santa Monica, Calif.
