PE-backed Enrollment Advisors to acquire HighRoads’ employer tech unit

Century Capital-backed Enrollment Advisors has agreed to buy Boston-based HighRoads‘ employer tech division. No financial terms were disclosed. HighRoads CEO and President Michael Byers has been named executive chairman of Enrollment Advisors. HighRoads is a provider of benefits plan management and compliance solutions. Its investors include ABS Ventures, AH Ventures, Egan Managed Capital and Kodiak Venture Partners.


ANSYS acquires VC-backed SpaceClaim for $85 mln

ANSYS, an engineering simulation software firm, has acquired SpaceClaim Corp. for $85 million in cash. Deutsche Bank Securities was financial adviser to SpaceClaim on the transaction. Based in Concord, Mass., SpaceClaim is a 3-D modeling tool provider. SpaceClaim was backed by Kodiak Venture Partners, Borealis Ventures, Needham Capital Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners.


AppNexus Appoints Two New Board Members

AppNexus has appointed two new board members Brian McAndrews, former CEO of aQuantive and Edwin J. Gillis, former executive advisor to Skype. McAndrews is a venture partner with the Madrona Venture Group and is also on the boards of portfolio company AdReady, The New York Times Company, Clearwire Corporation, Fisher Communications and Seamless.


GlassHouse Technologies Pulls IPO Plans

GlassHouse Technologies, a provider of cloud, virtualization, security and data center managed services, has pulled plans for an initial public offering, the company announced Tuesday. GlassHouse, which has raised money from investors including Sigma Partners, Kodiak Venture Partners, GrandBanks Capital, Globespan Capital Partners and Paladin Capital Group, cited volatile market conditions as the reason for nixing its IPO plans.


Allegro Diagnostics Closes on $5.4M

Allegro Diagnostics, a Maynard, Mass.-based developer of molecular testing platforms, has raised $5.4 million in Series A extension financing. Existing shareholders Kodiak Venture Partners and Catalyst Health Ventures participated in the round. The round will help the company support the commercialization of its lead genomic test, designed to detect early signs of lung cancer.

Continue Lands $41M in VC

Flash sale website has closed on whopping $41 million from a slew of venture investors including Next World Capital, Cue Ball Capital, StarVest Partners, Constellation Growth Capital and Kodiak Venture Partners, Reuters reported. The money will help offer shoppers more brands and improve its technology, Reuters said. The company previously raised upwards of $24 million across two earlier rounds.
