Rubrik pulls in $10 mln Series A

Palo Alto, California-based Rubrik Inc, which provides a “time machine” for cloud infrastructure, has secured $10 million in Series A funding. Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round.


Highfive garners $32 mln Series B

Redwood City, California-based Highfive, a provider of video conferencing device and cloud software for businesses, has received $32 million in Series B funding. Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Google Ventures, SV Angel, Aaron Levie of Box and Marc Benioff of Salesforce.com.


Guardant Health scores about $50 mln Series C

Redwood City, California-based Guardant Health, a cancer testing provider, has closed about $50 million in Series C funding. Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round with participation from Formation 8 and previous backers Khosla Ventures and Sequoia Capital.


BlueVine snags $18.5 mln

BlueVine, which provides working capital financing to small businesses, has received $18.5 million in funding. 83North (formerly Greylock IL) and Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Silicon Valley Bank and Correlation Ventures. Also, BlueVine has named Ido Lustig as vice president of risk management. The company has also added Stewart Wilkinson to its board of directors while Raymond Stern and Taher Behbehani will join BlueVine’s advisory board.


Lightspeed Venture leads $33 mln Series C funding in Personalis

Lightspeed Venture Partners has led a $33 million Series C funding round in Personalis, Inc., a genomics-based clinical diagnostic laboratory. All the Series A investors participated in the funding round, including Abingworth and Mohr Davidow Ventures. The funding brings Personalis’ total funding to $75 million.


Educational app platform maker Clever scores $30 mln

San Francisco-based Clever, an educational app platform provider, has closed $30 million in funding. The investors were Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, GSV Capital and Peter Thiel. According to the company, the capital infusion will be used for growth and to meet consumer demand.


Parking valet app Luxe drives away with $5.5 mln

San Francisco-based parking valet app Luxe has received $5.5 million in seed funding, the company announced in a blog post on its site. The investors were Redpoint Ventures, Google Ventures, Sherpa Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Upfront Ventures, Foundation Capital, BoxGroup, Slow Ventures, Data Collective, Eniac Ventures and Rothenberg Ventures. BVP and Lightspeed back Gainsight

Gainsight, a provider of customer success solutions, has raised $25 million in Series C funding. The investors were Bessemer Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Byron Deeter of BVP has been added to Gainsight’s board of directors while Lightspeed’s Nakul Mandan will become a board observer.

UK bitcoin wallet provider Blockchain rakes in over $30 mln

London-based bitcoin wallet provider Blockchain has closed over $30 million in growth funding, the company announced in a blog post on its site. Lightspeed Venture Partners and Wicklow Capital co-led the round. Other backers included Richard Branson, Mosaic Ventures and Prudence Holdings. To read more about the funding, visit here.



Numerify inks $15 mln Series B led by Sequoia

Cloud-based analytics company Numerify has raised $15 million in an oversubscribed Series B funding round led by Sequoia Capital. Numerify has secured a total of more than $23 million to date including a Series A round of $8.25 million led by Lightspeed Venture Partners who also participated in the Series B round.


VC-backed Aerohive names SVP of engineering

Aerohive Networks said Thursday that it has hired Stathis Papaefstathiou as senior vice president of engineering. Prior to joining Aerohive, Papaefstathiou worked at F5 Networks where he served as a vice president of product development. Based in Sunnyvale, Calif., Aerohive Networks is a provider of enterprise Wi-Fi solutions. Its backers include Northern Light Venture Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Four Rivers Group, Institutional Venture Partners and New Enterprise Associates.

The Honest Company raises $70 mln

The Honest Company, which was co-founded by the actress Jessica Alba and which sells eco-friendly natural, non-toxic products online, has raised $70 million in a round led by funds associated with Wellington Management Company.
