BPOC and Heritage Group recaps Medical Solutions

Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Company and Heritage Group have closed a recapitalization of Medical Solutions, a staffing agency that placing registered nurses in temporary travel assignments in the U.S. No financial terms were disclosed. As a result of this transaction, Medical Solutions’ previous backers Tenex Capital Management and McCarthy Capital have exited their stakes in the company.


Ballantyne Strong appoints board chairman

Ballantyne Strong has named Samuel C. Freitag as chairman of its board of directors. The appointment became effective January 1, 2015. Freitag replaces William F. Welsh, II, who has stepped down as chairman while continuing as a member of its board of directors. Freitag is a former president of private equity fund manager McCarthy Capital Corp. Ballantyne Strong is a provider of digital technology solutions.


Medical Solutions buys OA Nurse Travel

Medical Solutions has acquired OA Nurse Travel from On Assignment. Financial terms weren’t announced. OA Nurse Travel, of Cincinnati, provides traveling nurses. Omaha-based Medical Solutions is owned by Tenex Capital Management and McCarthy Capital.

Welsh Carson Buys Peak 10

Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe has bought a majority stake of Peak 10, a Charlotte, N.C.-based data center operator and managed services provider. Peak 10’s management will also have a stake. The sellers were Seaport Capital and McCarthy Capital. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in early October.
