Seattle-based Outreach, which uses predictive intelligence and machine learning to optimize the B2B sales communication process, announced it has raised a $9.2 million Series A round of funding. Mayfield Fund led the round, which included participation from existing investors MHS Capital and Floodgate. As part of the latest round, Rajeev Batra, partner at Mayfield, has joined the board.


Foundry Group leads $12.5 mln round for Pioneer Square Labs

Seattle-based Pioneer Square Labs, a studio that creates and launches tech startups, has secured $12.5 million in funding. Foundry Group led the round with participation from other investors that included Bezos Expeditions, Greycroft Partners, Madrona Venture Group, Maveron, Menlo Ventures, MHS Capital, True Ventures, Voyager Capital and Vulcan Capital.


VC-backed Udemy hires two VPs

San Francisco-based online education marketplace Udemy has appointed Robert Wong as vice president of product and Grégory Boutté as vice president of content. Previously, Wong worked at Sidecar where he served as vice president of product while Boutté most recently worked as vice president of eBay Motors & Electronics for eBay North America. Udemy’s backers include Stripes Group, Norwest Venture Partners, Insight Venture Partners, Lightbank, MHS Capital and Learn Capital.
