Hardware startup LittleBits snags $44.2 mln

New York-based hardware startup LittleBits Electronics Inc has raised $44.2 million in funding. DFJ Growth led the round with participation from other investors that included Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners​, Grishin Robotics, Wamda Capital, Foundry Group​, True Ventures,​ VegasTechFund​, Two Sigma Ventures​ and Khosla Ventures​. In conjunction with the funding, Barry Schuler of DFJ Growth, has been added to the LittleBits board.


Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners taps IFC’s Wilton as MD

Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners has hired David Wilton as a managing director. In his new role, Wilton will focus on private equity impact investing. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Wilton worked at International Finance Corp. where he served as chief investment officer and manager of its global private equity arm.


M/C Partners leads $50 mln round for Involta

Involta has received $50 million in financing. M/C Partners led the round with participation from Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners. Involta owns and operates multi-tenant data centers in the U.S.

Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners has secured $500 million in commitments for AIP Strategic Opportunities Fund I. The vehicle is a closed-end investment fund that will capitalize on medium-term opportunities in the hedge fund space.

AnaCap Sells Cabot Credit Management to J.C. Flowers

AnaCap Financial Partners has sold Cabot Credit Management to funds managed and advised by J.C. Flowers & Co. CCM was formed after the merger in April 2011 of two businesses, Apex Credit Management and Cabot Financial, purchased by funds advised by AnaCap and its co-investors, Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners and Partners Group.

Värde Partners Enables SAV Exit

Global fund manager Värde Partners has agreed to acquire SAV Credit Limited, a UK-based specialist credit card provider, from majority shareholders Palamon Capital Partners, Electra Private Equity and Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners in a deal worth £472 million. Palamon, Electra, and Morgan Stanley have supported the development of SAV from a start-up in 2002. Värde Partners first partnered with SAV Credit in March 2010 and is acquiring the business as part of its strategic growth plans.

Cloud Engines Locks in $15M

ClickFox Adds $18 Million in Financing

Analytics company ClickFox has raised $18 million in a new round of financing led by Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners. The company, which says it is already profitable, will used the financing for continued growth and expansion of its customer experience analytics technology. The Atlanta-based company did not disclose the names of other investors in the round. ClickFox has previously raised financing from investors including Ascent Venture Partners, Cedar Fund, Delta Ventures and Veritas Venture Partners.


Zayo Group Raises $128 Million Series B

Zayo Group, a Louisville, Colo.-based regional provider of fiber-based network services, has raised $128 million in Series B funding.
