10X Genomics attracts $55.5 mln Series B

Pleasanton, California-based 10X Genomics, a genomics platform provider, has closed $55.5 million in Series B funding. Foresite Capital Management led the round with participation from other investors that included Venrock, Paladin Capital Group and Morgan Stanley Investment Management.


Doximity raises $54 mln from DFJ, T Rowe Price, others

Doximity said it closing a $54 million round of Series C funding co-led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. Morgan Stanley Investment Management also participated in the round as a new investor. Existing investors Emergence Capital Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures and InterWest Partners also joined the financing. Doximity, an online network for doctors, has more than tripled its user base since its last funding in September 2012 and has one in three U.S. doctors as members, the company said.

Castlight Appoints Driscoll as President

Castlight Health, a provider of health care transparency solutions for employers and payers, has appointed John Driscoll as president. Trevor Named Senior MD at Avenue Capital Group

Avenue Capital Group said Monday that Stephen Trevor was named a Senior MD focused on distressed-for-control investments. Trevor was previously co-head of the private equity business within Morgan Stanley Investment Management as well as co-head of Morgan Stanley Merchant Banking and Asset Management.

Workday Closes $85M Round

Workday Inc., a maker of software-as-a-service products for enterprise human resources, payroll and financial management, has raised $85 million in Series F financing. T. Rowe Price, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Janus Capital Group Inc. and Bezos Expeditions contributed to the round. Workday was formed in 2005, and focuses on a cloud-based alternative for HR software. Allen & Co. acted as financial adviser to Workday for the financing.
