Northleaf collects C$264 mln for venture fund of funds

Northleaf Capital Partners has raised $264 million for its venture catalyst fund. Northleaf Venture Catalyst Fund‘s investors include Ontario Pension Board. NVCF, the first fund of funds to be established under the Canadian government’s Venture Capital Action Plan, has made 11 investments so far.


Mason Wells sells Paris Presents to Wasserstein & Co.

Wasserstein & Co. has bought Paris Presents from Mason Wells. No financial terms were disclosed. Ontario Pension Board and Northwest Mutual are co-investing in the deal. BNP Paribas provided the financing for the transaction. Based in Gurnee, Illinois, Paris Presents is a provider of beauty products and personal care accessories.


Wasserstein & Co., co-investors agree to buy ALM Media

Wasserstein & Co. has agreed to acquire ALM Media from Apax Partners and RBS. The investment will be made through Wasserstein Partners III. The Ontario Pension Board, Pantheon, the Honeywell pension and HighVista Strategies are co-investing in the deal. ALM is a provider of specialized business news, research and information, focused primarily on the legal and commercial real estate sectors. The company has about 700 employees and a portfolio of more than 350 print and digital publications, including The New York Law Journal, The American Lawyer and The National Law Journal.
