BuildingIQ, a energy management software provider, has raised A$20 million for its IPO. The stock began trading Wednesday on the Australian Securities Exchange. It is backed by Aster Capital, Siemens Financial Services‘ venture capital unit, Paladin Capital and the energy division of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.


VC-backed ThreatStream appoints Bush as CFO

Redwood City, California-based ThreatStream, a cyber security threat intelligence platform provider, has named Nancy Bush as chief financial officer. Previously, Bush worked at Adaptive Insights where she served as vice president of finance. ThreatStream’s backers include General Catalyst Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, Google Ventures and Paladin Capital Group.


Twist Bioscience rakes in $37 mln Series C

San Francisco-based Twist Bioscience, a producer of synthetic DNA, has closed $37 million in Series C funding. Illumina Inc led the round with participation from other investors that included Fidelity Management and Research Company, Foresite Capital Management LLC, Tao Invest, ARCH Venture Partners and Paladin Capital Group. In addition to the funding, Dr. Nicholas J. Naclerio, Illumina’s senior vice president of corporate development and general manager of enterprise informatics, has been added to Twist Bioscience board of directors.


ThreatStream raises $22 mln

Newlans calls on Verizon Ventures for $5 mln

Newlans, a developer of radio frequency solutions for mobile devices, has raised an additional $5 million from Verizon Ventures to complete its Series B round. In February, the Acton, Mass.-based company raised $15 million in a Series B funding round led by Intel Capital and including Paladin Capital Management and Lockheed Martin Corp. The company has now raised $27 million in equity funding, according to Thomson Reuters (publisher of peHUB).

New investor Paladin Capital Group contributed to the financing, as did existing investors Sigma Partners, Palomar Ventures, InterWest Partners, GRA Venture Fund, Imlay Investments, and Blumberg Capital.
