Pamplona to acquire MedAssets for about $2.7 bln

Pamplona Capital Management has agreed to buy MedAssets, a healthcare performance improvement company, for $31.35 per share or about $2.7 billion. Also, Pamplona has agreed to divest MedAssets’ spend and clinical resource management unit to VHA-UHC Alliance following the deal’s closing. Morgan Stanley and Barclays are providing financial advice to Pamplona on the transaction.


Pamplona buys majority stake in Intralign

Pamplona has acquired a majority stake in Intralign, which is backed by Heritage Group and Cardinal Health. Jefferies and Lowenstein Sandler advised Pamplona on the transaction. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Intralign is a specialty healthcare services firm.


Reuters – Investcorp Attracts Bidders for Armacell

The sale of German insulation firm Armacell by its Bahrain-based private equity owner Investcorp has attracted six bidders as interest grows in companies making energy-efficient products, writes Reuters. Private equity investors Charterhouse, Pamplona, Equistone, HgCapital, Goldman Sachs Private Equity as well as a US-based producer of building materials have placed tentative bids, writes Reuters.
