Brisbane, California-based Pramata, a provider of customer relationship intelligence solutions, has raised $10 million in Series A funding. Volition Capital led the round with participation from existing backers Argosy Capital and Peninsula Ventures.


Flint Mobile bags $9.4 mln in Verizon Ventures-led round

Flint Mobile has raised $9.4 million in Series C funding. Verizon Ventures, the investing arm of mobile and broadband provider Verizon Communications, led the round with participation from Digicel, Storm Ventures, True Ventures and Peninsula Ventures. Based in Redwood City, Calif., Flint Mobile is a mobile payment service for small businesses.


Intel completes VC-backed Basis Science acquisition

Intel has closed its buy of Basis Science. No financial terms were disclosed. Headquartered in San Francisco, Basis is a wearable device tech company that focuses on health and wellness. Its backers included Norwest Venture Partners, Doll Capital Management, iNovia Capital, Peninsula Ventures and Mayfield Fund.


Scifiniti Raises $10M From Alloy, Firelake, 12BF, Peninsula

Scifiniti said it raised $10 million in Series B funding from existing investors Alloy Ventures, Firelake Capital, I2BF Global Ventures and Peninsula Ventures. The company will use the money to bring its first product to market. Its SmartWafer is a replacement for silicon wafers used in solar cell manufacturing.


Axcient Gets $15.5m New Funding

California-based Axcient, a data backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery service to the Small and Mid-Sized Business (SMB) market, has raised US$15.5 million in new funding. The Series C round was led by Scale Venture Partners with previous investors Allegis Capital, Peninsula Ventures, and Thomvest Ventures participating, bringing the company’s total funding to date to US$33.5 million. Rory O’Driscoll, managing director, Scale Venture Partners, joins the board with this investment.


Crowd Factory Seals $6.5M Led By Storm Ventures

Marketing start-up Crowd Factory has raised $6.5 million in a venture round led by new investor Storm Ventures. Existing investors Hummer Winblad, Peninsula Ventures and undisclosed angel investors also participated in the round. Storm Ventures’ Ryan Floyd joins Crowd Factory’s board as a result of the financing. Crowd Factory will use the new money to expand its development and marketing of its social marketing applications.
