TigerText reels in $50 mln

Santa Monica, California-based TigerText, a provider of secure communications and workflow platform for the enterprise, has raised $50 million in Series C funding. Norwest Venture Partners led the round with participation from Invus Group, Accolade Partners, Shasta Ventures, OrbiMed and Reed Elsevier. In addition to the funding, Dr. Robert Mittendorff, a principal at Norwest Venture Partners, has been added to TigerText’s board of directors.

YCharts snags $6 mln in Morningstar-led round

Chicago-based YCharts, a provider of tools and services for stock research and analysis, has raised $6 million in Series C funding. Morningstar led the round with participation from other investors that included Reed Elsevier, I2A, Amicus Capital Partners and Hyde Park Angels. Also, the company has hired Jeremy Diamond as chief revenue officer. Previously, Diamond worked at Morningstar where he served as head of buy side solutions.

Genstar-backed Asset International hires CFO

Asset International, which is backed by Genstar Capital, has named Carolyn Ullerick as its chief financial officer. Previously, Ullerick worked at Reed Elsevier’s LexisNexis Group where she served as global CFO. Headquartered in New York City, Asset International provides data and marketing solutions to the global asset management industry.

First Advantage Closes Buy of LexisNexis Screening Unit

First Advantage, which is backed by Symphony Technology Group, has closed its buy of LexisNexis Risk Solutions‘ employment and resident screening business.LexisNexis Risk Solutions is a division of Reed Elsevier. The transaction was announced in January. BofA Merrill Lynch acted as financial advisor to First Advantage. BofA Merrill Lynch and Tennenbaum Capital Partners provided financing.
