RPM Ventures leads $5.5 mln Series A funding in smart home tech company Roost

RPM Ventures led a $5.5 million Series A funding round in smart home technology company Roost. Other investors in the round include a subsidiary of financial services provider USAA, existing investor DCM Ventures as well as Center Electric and StartGarden. Along with the funding, Roost has hired Jim Van Patten as vice president operations and Richard Stark as vice president, enterprise sales.


Blumberg, RPM Ventures lead $6 mln funding in Able

Blumberg Capital and RPM Ventures led a $6 million Series A funding round in Able, which provides loans and connects small businesses into a network of borrowers. Other investors in the funding include Peterson Partners and Expansion Ventures AngelList Syndicate.


Connected car platform Automatic Labs scores $24 mln

San Francisco-based connected car platform Automatic Labs has raised $24 million in Series B funding. The investors included CDK Global, USAA, Comcast Ventures.Y Combinator, RPM Ventures, Anthemis Group and Amicus Capital.


RPM Ventures hires Adam Boyden as managing director

RPM Ventures has hired Adam Boyden as managing director. Boyden was co-founder and chief executive officer of portfolio company Openlane, an online wholesale automotive marketplace. He also worked as vice president of business development and marketing at Xfire, a social networking company focused on video gamers.


Quiz platform creator Qzzr racks up $2 mln seed

Qzzr has received $2 million in seed funding. Kickstart Seed Fund led the round with participation from other investors that included Pelion Venture Partners, Peterson Partners and RPM Ventures. Qzzr, which has emerged from stealth mode, is a quiz platform creator.


VC-backed Deliv taps Amazon’s Helms to head delivery operations

Deliv said Wednesday that it has hired Jeff Helms to head its delivery operations. Previously, Helms worked at Amazon where he launched its first logistics delivery stations in North America. Headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., Deliv is a provider of same-day delivery services. Its backers include Upfront Ventures and RPM Ventures.

Venture-Backed Wide Open Spaces Emerges From Stealth

Wide Open Spaces emerged from stealth mode and launched today. The venture-backed company, which raised $1.75 million in a previously unannounced seed round from Mercury Fund, RPM Ventures and Dundee Venture Capital last year, operates an online site called openseason to sell hunting and fishing items.

Xtime Raises $23M From Bessemer, Lumia, RPM And Saints

Xtime said it raised $23 million in a deal led by Bessemer Venture Partners and joined by Lumia Capital and existing investors RPM Ventures and Saints Capital. The company said Jeremy Levine, a Bessemer partner, and DFJ Venture Partner Heidi Roizen have joined the board.

Greylock Puts $5M in BountyJobs

BountyJobs, the online marketplace that introduces corporate recruiters with headhunters, has closed a new round of financing for $5 million, which was led by Greylock Partners. Joining Greylock in the round was Accel Partners and Michigan-based RPM Ventures.

JanRain Raises $15.5M

JanRain, the provider of social identity management solutions for businesses, collected $15.5 million from investors including Anthem Venture Partners, DFJ Frontier, RPM Ventures, Tim Draper, and founder Larry Drebes with participation from Square 1 Bank. Emergence Capital Partners led the funding round. The company counts MTV, Tribune Co. and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group among its clients.
