Anaplan raises $100 mln Series D led by DFJ Growth

Planning platform business Anaplan has completed a Series D round of $100 million in financing, bringing total investment in the company to $150 million. The round was led by DFJ Growth with participation from Brookside Capital, Coatue Management, Sands Capital Management, and Workday and Anaplan’s current investors, Granite Ventures, Meritech Capital Partners, salesforce.com, and Shasta Ventures.

Advent International invests in FinancialForce.com

FinancialForce.com said Thursday that it has secured $50 million in funding from private equity firm Advent International. As a result of this transaction, UNIT4 will remain as FinancialForce.com’s majority investor while Salesforce.com continues to hold a minority stake in the firm. Headquartered in San Francisco, FinancialForce.com is a cloud ERP provider on the Salesforce1 platform.

VC-backed Okta taps Salesforce.com former SVP for new position

Okta said Monday that it has hired Krista Anderson as its first chief customer officer. Anderson is a former senior vice president at Salesforce.com. Based in San Francisco, Okta is an identity management service. It is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures and Sequoia Capital.

VC-backed Domo appoints TPG principal to board

Enterprise software startup Domo has named Nehal Raj, a principal at TPG, to its board of directors. TPG Growth recently led a $125 million Series C round in Domo. The company’s other backers include Benchmark, Fidelity Investments, Founders Fund, GGV Capital, Greylock Partners, IVP, Salesforce.com, T. Rowe Price, WPP and Zetta Venture Partners.

Salesforce.com appoints former Secy of State General Colin Powell to board

Salesforce.com said Friday that it has named General Colin Powell to its board of directors. The appointment became effective March 13, 2014. A retired four star general, General Powell served as U.S. National Security Advisor, Commander of the U.S. Army Forces Command and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was also the 65th Secretary of State under President George W. Bush. General Power is is a strategic limited partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Headquartered in San Francisco, Salesforce is a provider of CRM solutions.


SteelBrick secures funding

SteelBrick, a provider of easy-to-use apps for Salesforce.com customers, has received $5 million backing from Godard Abel, the company’s new CEO and former co-founder/CEO of BigMachines, and from Matt Gorniak, former global SVP sales/alliances from BigMachines, who will serve as a senior advisor to SteelBrick. SteelBrick recently opened an office in Chicago and has launched a new website.
