Tegile Systems scores $70 mln

Newark, California-based virtual data storage services provider Tegile Systems has secured $70 million in funding. The investors were Capricorn Investment Group, Cross Creek Advisors, Pine River Capital Management, August Capital, Meritech Capital Partners, Western Digital and SanDisk.


Stratoscale attracts $32 mln Series B

Stratoscale has closed $32 million in Series B funding. Intel Capital led the round with participation from Cisco Investments, SanDisk, Battery Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners. Based in Israel, Stratoscale is a software platform for hyper-convergence.

SanDisk Launches New Venture Capital “Initiative”

SanDisk Corporation, the publicly traded, Milpitas, Calif.-based flash memory stage company, has launched a new venture capital “iniative” to invest in startups that align with SanDisk’s interests. Toward that end, the company has made its first investment in Whiptail, a data storage company that designs energy-efficient enterprise infrastructure equipment and that is located in Whippany, N.J.

Flash Storage Company WhipTail Raises $31M Series C

WhipTail, a Whippany, N.J.-based flash based storage company, has raised a $31 million Series C round of funding from SanDisk, Ignition Partners, RRE Ventures and Spring Mountain Capital. Silicon Valley Bank provided debt financing and the company said an unnamed Silicon Valley industry titan also invested.
