Lineagen racks up $15.8 mln Series C

Salt Lake City-based Lineagen Inc, a molecular diagnostics company focused on childhood development disorders, has closed $15.8 million in Series C funding. The investors included HealthQuest Capital, Petra Capital Partners, Mountain Group Partners. Sanderling Ventures, Signal Peak Ventures, PrairieGold Venture Partners, Mesa Verde Venture Partners and KickStart Ventures. In addition to the funding, Dr. David S. Kabakoff, a partner at HeathQuest Capital and David Fitzgerald of Petra Capital have been added to Lineagen’s board of directors.


True Fit grabs $15 mln

Retail SaaS firm True Fit has secured $15 million in funding. Signal Peak Ventures, Promus Ventures and Jump Capital led the round with participation from previous backers Guggenheim Partners, Breakaway Ventures and Novel TMT.

VC-backed Infusionsoft hires CFO

Infusionsoft, a sales and marketing software provider for small businesses, has named Curtis Smith as chief financial officer. In his new role, Smith will oversee corporate finance, accounting, legal, investor relations and report to the firm’s CEO and co-founder Clate Mask. Infusionsoft is backed by Goldman Sachs, Bain Capital Ventures, Mohr Davidow Ventures and Signal Peak Ventures.


Bain Capital Ventures leads $55 mln growth round in Infusionsoft

Bain Capital Ventures has led a $55 million Series D growth funding in Infusionsoft,a sales and marketing software provider for small businesses. Prior investors Signal Peak Ventures, Goldman Sachs, Arthur Ventures and Allure Ventures participated in the funding round. Infusionsoft has raised a total of $125 million, including a $54 million Series C funding round led by Goldman in 2013.


ITOK rakes in $18 mln Series B

Lehi, Utah-based iTOK, a provider of IT-managed services and cloud-based solutions for small businesses, said Thursday that it has secured $18 million in Series B funding. ABS Capital Partners led the round with participation from Signal Peak Ventures. In addition to the funding, Laura Witt and Cass Gilmore of ABS Capital have been added to iTOK’s board of directors.


Trident Sees 3.4x Return On Solera Exit

Blue Coat System’s acquisition of Solera Networks is the latest exit of a venture-backed security company, and a lucrative one, too. Allegis Capital, an early backer of Solera, expects a return of more than 10x on its first money. Trident Capital also is turning a tidy profit.

Kickstart Launches $26M Fund II to Serve Utah Startups

Kickstart Seed Fund has closed on a $26 million second fund focused on early stage technology investments in Utah. That is more than twice the amount that Managing Director Gavin Christensen raised for his first fund in 2008. He has added Clarke Miyasaki as a GP and Alex Soffe as CFO to help manage the fund.

Aspen Avionics Closes Funding Round

Aspen Avionics has closed a $12.8 million round of financing. All of Aspen’s previous investors, including Granite Ventures, Sun Mountain Capital, Signal Peak Ventures, EPIC Ventures, Fort Washington Capital Partners and New Mexico Community Capital participated.

C7 Data Centers Secures Debt and Equity Funds

C7 Data Centers, a provider of advanced IT and data center outsourcing services, has secured $25 million in debt and equity funding. MCG Capital Corporation and previous investment partner Signal Peak Ventures provided the new funding. Past investors in the business include Canopy Ventures and Zions First National Bank.

Former Canopy Pros Launch Signal Peak Ventures

Signal Peak Ventures was formed by Ron Heinz and Brandon Tidwell, former Canopy Group pros, and acquired substantially all of Canopy’s ventures. StepStone Group led a group of LPs that backed the fund. Heinz said Signal Peak is in the process of relocating to permanent headquarters in Salt Lake City.
