IBM agrees to buy VC-backed Silverpop

IBM said Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Silverpop. No financial terms were disclosed for the transaction, which is expected to close in the second quarter of 2014. Based in Atlanta, Silverpop is a provider of digital marketing technology. Its backers include Escalate Capital Partners, D.E. Shaw, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Silicon Valley Bank.

European Founders Buy Into Silverpop

Silverpop, an Atlanta-based email service provider, announced that the European Founders Fund had purchased an undisclosed amount of common stock from existing company shareholders.
