On-demand meal service Sprig cooks up $45 mln

San Francisco-based on-demand meal service Sprig has secured $45 million in funding. The Social+Capital Partnership led the round with participation from other investors that included Greylock Partners, Accel Partners, Battery Ventures, 500 Startups, Ludlow Ventures, Lumia Capital, IDG Ventures and CAA Ventures. In addition to the funding, Ted Maidenberg of Social+Capital has been added to Sprig’s board of directors.

Based in Palo Alto, Calif., Wealthfront is an automated investment service.

Greenhouse garners $7.5 mln Series A

Greenhouse Software said Thursday that it has raised $7.5 million in Series A funding. Social+Capital Partnership led the round with participation from Resolute Ventures and Felicis Ventures. In addition to the funding, Mamoon Hamid of Social+Capital Partnership has been appointed to Greenhouse’s board of directors. Based in San Francisco and New York City, Greenhouse is a provider of recruiting solutions for companies.

Codecademy Closes Series A

Codecademy, a site that teaches people how to become computer programmers, has sealed a Series A round from investors including Union Square Ventures, O’Reilly, SV Angel, Yuri Milner, Social+Capital Partnership, Thrive Capital, CrunchFund, Collaborative Fund, Founder Collective, and individual investors including Joshua Schacter, Vivi Nevo, Naval Ravikant and Sam Altman. The company reportedly sealed $2.5 million in the round, which will be used to bolster the development and design team.
