Cincinnati startup EBTH grabs $13 mln

Cincinnati-based Everything But The House, an online real estate firm, has closed $13 million in Series A funding. The investors included Spark Capital and Greycroft Partners. According to the firm, the capital will be used for growth and expansion.


Kik Interactive picks up $38.3 mln Series C, also acquires Relay

Kik Interactive has closed $38.3 million in Series C funding. Valiant Capital Partners led the round with participation from Millennium Technology Value Partners, SV Angel, Foundation Capital, RRE Ventures, Spark Capital and Union Square Ventures. Also, Kik has bought GIF messenger Relay. No financial terms were disclosed. Headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Kik is a maker of chat network Kik.


Errand service Alfred nets $2 mln

Alfred has closed $2 million in funding. Spark Capital led the round with participation from SV Angel and CrunchFund. Headquartered in New York, Alfred is a subscription errand service.


Benu Networks raises $27.7 mln

Benu Networks has raised a $27.7 million funding round. Liberty Global Ventures and Arris Group participated. Benu, which provides networking and software solutions for network operators deploying Wi-Fi and Cloud services, said it hired Dino Di Palma as its CEO. Existing investors include Spark Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures and Comcast Ventures.


BVP leads Series B round for investing platform Quantopian

Boston-based algorithmic investing platform Quantopian has raised $15 million in Series B financing. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round with participation from return backers Khosla Ventures, Spark Capital and Wicklow Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Rob Stavis, a BVP partner, will join Quantopian’s board of directors.


BloomNation collects $5.55 mln Series A

Los Angeles-based online flower marketplace BloomNation has secured $5.55 million in Series A funding. The investors included Andreessen Horowitz, Ronny Conway, Spark Capital, Chicago Ventures and Mucker Capital.

Superpedestrian snaps up $4 mln

Superpedestrian has raised $4 million in funding. The investors included Spark Capital, General Catalyst, actor Jared Leto and former Akamai CEO Paul Sagan. Based in Cambridge, Mass., Superpedestrian is a developer of the Copenhagen Wheel bike.


Hardware manufacturer Kateeva raises $38 mln

Kateeva, a maker of flat panel OLED displays, has raised $38 million in a Series D round of funding from from Samsung Venture Investment Corp, Sigma Partners, Spark Capital, Madrone Capital Partners, DBL Investors, New Science Ventures and VEECO Instruments Inc. The Menlo Park, California-based company has now raised more than $110 million since it was founded in 2008.


GetYourGuide books $25 mln Series B

GetYourGuide, an online platform for tours and travel activities, said Thursday that it has raised $25 million in Series B funding. The investors were Spark Capital and Highland Capital Partners Europe.


Online mortgage lender Privlo rakes in $353.8 mln

Privlo, an online mortgage lender based in Santa Monica, Calif., has received $353.8 million in funding. This amount includes $3.8 million from Spark Capital and QED Investors as well as up to $350 million in debt financing from an undisclosed New York-based private real estate investment fund.


Cover app snags $5.5 mln

Restaurant payments app Cover has closed $5.5 million in funding, the company said in a blog post on its site. Andrew Parker of Spark Capital led the round. In addition to funding, Parker will be added to Cover’s board. To read the announcement, visit here.
