SparkLabs partners with Songdo to launch new IoT accelerator

SparkLabs, a startup accelerator in Asia, has partnered with the so-called “smart city” Songdo International Business District, a private development project in South Korea, to launch a new Internet of Things accelerator in early 2015. Songdo is a connected city in South Korea, being built on 1,500 acres. This will be SparkLabs’ second accelerator program, following the organization’s flagship operation in Seoul. Co-founder Bernard Moon told peHUB the firm’s accelerator program has to date had 22 graduates (79 percent of which have received follow-on funding) and SparkLabs is on its fourth class, featuring 10 companies. He said SparkLabs is considering opening accelerator programs in other locations in Asia and Europe.

Korean Accelerator SparkLabs Appoints

SparkLabs, a new startup accelerator in Korea, has appointed two new general partners – Jay McCarthy and Awy Julianto. Both come from Pacific Advisers, a Singapore-based M&A and financial advisory boutique.
