WeWork racks up $400 mln

New York-based WeWork, a shared workspace provider, has raised $400 million in financing, the company announced on its site. With this funding, Fidelity Management and Research Company has joined the company’s other backers that include J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc, T. Rowe Price Associates Inc, Goldman Sachs and Benchmark Capital.


Coupa Software scores $80 mln

Cloud-based financial applications provider Coupa Software has raised $80 million in funding. T. Rowe Price Associates Inc and Iconiq Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Premji Invest, Crosslink Capital, Battery Ventures, El Dorado Ventures and Rally Ventures. Also, Qatalyst Partners was the placement agent.

VC-backed aTyr files for IPO

San Diego-based biotherapeutics company aTyr Pharma Inc has filed for an IPO. The number of shares that will be sold as well as the stock’s pricing terms have yet to be set. The company plans on trading its stock on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol “LIFE.” J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Citigroup Global Markets Inc will serve as the lead underwriters. The company’s backers include Alta Partners, Cardinal Partners, Domain Associates, Polaris Partners, Sofinnova Ventures, T. Rowe Price Associates Inc, Federated Investors Inc, Deerfield, Rock Springs Capital Management, EcoR1 Capital and Sphera Global Healthcare.


MongoDB grabs $80 mln

Data management firm MongoDB has raised $80 million in funding. The investors included Goldman Sachs, Altimeter Capital, NEA, Sequoia and T. Rowe Price Associates.


SurveyMonkey scores $250 mln

Palo Alto, Calif.-based online survey platform SurveyMonkey has secured $250 million in funding. The investors included T. Rowe Price Associates, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Baillie Gifford & Co, Tiger Global Management, ICONIQ Capital, Google Capital, Social+Capital Partnership and Laurel Crown Partners. Allen & Co. was financial advisor on the transaction.

Spark Therapeutics attracts $72.8 mln Series B

Spark Therapeutics has closed $72.8 million in Series B financing. Sofinnova Ventures led the round with participation from Brookside Capital, Deerfield Management Company, Rock Springs Capital, T. Rowe Price Associates, Wellington Management Company, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and two unnamed healthcare funds. Based in Philadelphia, Spark Therapeutics is a developer of gene therapy products that treat rare, debilitating diseases.


Blackrock and Passport Capital leads $100 mln for New Relic

Software analytics provider New Relic has raised $100 million in funding. Blackrock and Passport Capital led the round with participation from T. Rowe Price Associates and Wellington Management. According to the firm, the capital infusion will be used for product development and international expansion. Allen & Company advised New Relic on the transaction and helped arrange the financing.


Doximity raises $54 mln from DFJ, T Rowe Price, others

Doximity said it closing a $54 million round of Series C funding co-led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. Morgan Stanley Investment Management also participated in the round as a new investor. Existing investors Emergence Capital Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures and InterWest Partners also joined the financing. Doximity, an online network for doctors, has more than tripled its user base since its last funding in September 2012 and has one in three U.S. doctors as members, the company said.


Online home decor retailer Wayfair grabs $157 mln

Wayfair said Friday that it has closed $157 million in Series B financing. T. Rowe Price Associates led the round with participation from TripAdvisor CFO Julie M.B. Bradley. Headquartered in Boston, Wayfair is an online retailer of home furnishings and decor. Its backers include Battery Ventures, Spark Capital, HarbourVest Partners and Great Hill Partners.

Redfin raises funds from Tiger Global, T. Rowe Price – Reuters

Online real estate company Redfin has raised $50 million from investment companies Tiger Global Management and T. Rowe Price Associates, writes Reuters. The Seattle-based company, which announced the new funding on Wednesday, aims to cut costs to homebuyers by awarding to them a portion of real-estate fees that agents traditionally are paid by homesellers.

New Relic Raises $80m in Mezz Financing

SaaS-based application management provider New Relic has raised $80 million in mezzanine financing to help the company expand into the mobile market, extend operations to Europe in preparation for a future public offering. Insight Venture Partners led the financing, which also included a major investment from accounts managed by T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. Other participants included Dragoneer Investment Group LLC, Passport Ventures LLC, and the company’s existing investors Allen & Company, Benchmark Capital, Trinity Ventures and Tenaya Capital.
