Cyanogen raises $80 from Twitter, Rupert Murdoch and others

Palo Alto, California and Seattle-based Cyanogen Inc, a mobile operating system, has closed $80 million in Series C funding. Premji Invest led the round with participation from other investors that included Twitter Ventures, Qualcomm Incorporated, Telefónica Ventures, Smartfren Telecom, Index Ventures, Access Industries, Rupert Murdoch, Benchmark, Andreessen Horowitz, Redpoint Ventures and Tencent Holdings Ltd.


Sigfox raises $115 mln round

Sigfox said Wednesday it secured a $115 million round of financing. Investors include Telefonica, SK Telecom, NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Elliott Management Corp. and GDF SUEZ, Air Liquide, Eutelsat. Labège, France-based Sigofx provides a cellular network dedicated to the Internet of Things.


SingTel Pays $321M For Amobee

Singapore Telecommunications Ltd., or SingTel, said Monday that it would pay $321 million to acquire Amobee Inc., a Redwood City, Calif.-based developer of mobile advertising technology. Telefónica Buys JaJah for €145 Million

Telefónica has acquired JaJah Inc., a Menlo Park, Calif.-based Internet telephone company, for €145 million in cash. JaJah had raised nearly $28 million in VC funding, from firms like Globespan Capital Partners, Intel Capital, Deutsche Telekom and Sequoia Capital.
