E-commerce site Jet raises $140 mln

Stealth e-commerce startup Jet announced it has raise $140 million in new funding led by Bain Capital Ventures. Also participating in the round are Accel Partners, Coatue Management, General Catalyst Partners, Goldman Sachs, Google Ventures, MentorTech Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, Norwest Venture Partners, Silicon Valley Bank, Temasek, Thrive Capital and others.

Innovent Biologics grabs $100 mln Series C

Chinese biopharmaceutical firm Innovent Biologics has closed $100 million in Series C funding. Legend Capital led the round with participation from other backers that included Temasek, Fidelity Biosciences, Fidelity Growth Partners Asia, Lilly Asia Ventures and Frontline Bioventures.


21Vianet scores $296 mln

China-based 21Vianet Group, a carrier neutral internet data center services provider, will receive $296 million in funding. The investors are Kingsoft, Xiaomi and Temasek. The transaction is expected to close in January 2015.

FiscalNote collects $7 mln Series A

FiscalNote, a Washington, D.C.-based legislative and regulatory analytics firm, has closed $7 million in Series A funding. Visionnaire Ventures, a joint fund between Taizo Son and Temasek, led the round with participation from other investors that included AME Cloud Ventures, NEA, Green Visor Capital and Winklevoss Capital.


Visterra closes $30 mln Series B

Biotechnology company Visterra has completed a $30 million Series B financing round. The round was co-led by new Visterra investors Merck Research Labs Venture Fund, Vertex Venture Holdings and Temasek. Existing investors Polaris Partners, Flagship Ventures, Omega Funds and Alexandria Venture Investments and a new investor Cycad Group also participated.


Venari Resources raises additional $1.3 bln from private equity group

Deepwater oil exploration company Venari Resources has raised an additional $1.3 billion from a group of investors. Venari’s management and existing investors Warburg Pincus, Kelso & Company, Temasek and The Jordan Company were joined by new investors GIC and BlackRock Private Equity Partners. To date, Venari has raised $2.4 billion, including $1.1 billion when the company was formed in May 2012.


SAP Ventures leads Series B round for Krux

Krux, a provider of cloud-based data management solutions, has closed $35 million in Series B funding. SAP Ventures led the round with participation from Time Warner Investments, Visionnaire Ventures, Temasek, Accel Partners, IDG Ventures and The Entrepreneurs Fund. In addition to the funding, Nino Marakovic, CEO and managing director of SAP Ventures, will join Krux’s board.
