London and San Francisco-based Digital Shadows, a provider of “cyber situational awareness,” has raised $14 million in Series B funding. Trinity Ventures led the round with participation from Storm Ventures, TenEleven Ventures, Passion Capital and Paladin Capital Group. In addition to the funding, Fred Wang, a general partner at Trinity Ventures, has been added to Digital Shadows’ board of directors.

BirdEye nets $8 mln Series A in Trinity Ventures-led round

Sunnyvale, California-based BirdEye, a business reputation and customer experience provider, has secured $8 million in Series A funding. Trinity Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Yahoo co-founder and former CEO Jerry Yang. In addition to the funding, Ajay Chopra of Trinity Ventures has been added to BirdEye’s board of directors while Clara Shih, CEO of Hearsay Social, has been named to its advisory board.

Shasta leads funding in Boomerang Commerce

Mountain View, Calif.-based Boomerang Commerce, which provides smart pricing solutions for retailers, has raised $12 million in a Series B funding round led by Shasta Ventures. Existing investors Madrona Venture Group and Trinity Ventures also participated in the round. The company has now raised $20.5 million in total funding.

New York City-based Nestio, a leasing and marketing platform for residential landlords and brokers, has secured $8 million in Series A funding. Trinity Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Freestyle Capital. In addition to the funding, Nestio has named Scott Wolfgang, a former partner at Quotidian Ventures, as company CFO. Also, Nestio has added Noel Fenton, founder and general partner of Trinity Ventures, to its board of directors.

QVC parent company to buy Zulily for about $2.4 bln

Liberty Interactive Corp, the parent company of QVC, has agreed to acquire Seattle-based Zulily, an ecommerce site that targets moms and their children, for about $2.4 billion. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year. In November 2013, Zulily went public, launching its IPO on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol “ZU.” Its pre-IPO backers were Maveron, August Capital, Trinity Ventures, Meritech Capital Partners and Andreessen Horowitz.
