Peter Thiel Backs New Zealand-based Xero

Venture investor and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel has invested NZ$4 million ($2.98 million) in New Zealand-based Xero Limited. Xero, which provides online accounting software, will use the financing to expand into the U.S. market. The investment will be the first made through Valar Ventures, Thiel’s New Zealand investment firm.
