Meg Whitman Joins Zaarly Board as it Closes on $14M

San Francisco-based mobile commerce startup Zaarly has added Hewlett-Packard chief executive and former eBay chief Meg Whitman to its board. Zaarly has created a mobile, local marketplace that allows users to buy and sell with people in their neighborhoods. Zaarly has also announced a newly closed $14.1 million Series A funding round, led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & ByersiFund and Sands Capital Ventures. Groupon co-founders Brad Keywell and Eric Lefkofsky joined VC Lightbank in committing $1.2 million to social business startup DoubleDutch, it was announced today.
