Mirantis grabs $100 mln in Intel Capital-led round

Intel Capital has led an $100 million funding round for Mountain View, California-based software solutions provider Mirantis. Other investors were Goldman Sachs, August Capital, Insight Venture Partners, Ericsson, Sapphire Ventures and WestSummit Capital.


WestSummit Capital leads funding round for 3DR

Berkeley, California-based 3DR, a maker of consumer drones, has received an additional $14 million in funding, raising the company’s Series C round to $64 million. WestSummit Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included SanDisk Ventures and Atlantic Bridge Ventures.


Movidius racks up $40 mln

San Mateo, California-based vision processor company Movidius has secured $40 million in funding. Summit Bridge Capital, a joint venture between Atlantic Bridge Capital and WestSummit Capital, led the round with other investors that included ARCH Venture Partners, Sunny Optical Technology Group, AIB Seed Capital Fund, Capital-E, DFJ Esprit and Robert Bosch Venture Capital. In addition to the funding, David Lam of WestSummit Capital has been appointed to Movidius’ board of directors.

YuMe Acquires Crowd Science

YuMe, a provider of digital brand advertising software and services, has acquired Crowd Science, an audience targeting technology company. YuMe is backed by Accel Partners, BV Capital, DAG Ventures, Intel Capital, Khosla Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung Ventures, Translink Capital and WestSummit Capital.

WestSummit Backs Mobile Tech Company Union Optech in China

Beijing-based WestSummit Capital announced that it has backed Chinese optical lens provider Union Optech, which develops lenses and sensors used in security cameras, smartphones, and other mobile devices. Terms of the funding were not disclosed.
