General Assembly rakes in over $70 mln

New York City-based computer programming school General Assembly has raised over $70 million in Series D funding, the company announced in a blog post on its site. The backers included Advance Publications, Wellington Capital Management LLP, Institutional Venture Partners, Learn Capital, Maveron, Rethink Education and WTI . In addition to the funding, General Assembly has added Steve Newhouse to its board.


AirXpanders Secures Series D Round

AirXpanders, a company developing technology to address unmet needs for patients who require tissue expansion for breast reconstruction surgery, has secured $10 million in Series D financing. DisplayLink Adds $8M in VC

DisplayLink, a provider of networked display technology for multi-monitor and USB-connected computing, has closed on $8 million in new capital. Though the company did not name its most recent investors, the company has previously inked venture funding from Atlas Venture, Balderton Capital, DAG Ventures, DFJ Esprit and WTI. The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company has raised a total of $68 million.
