VC-backed Zenefits taps Yammer founder Sacks as COO

San Francisco-based human resources platform Zenefits has named David Sacks as its first chief operating officer. He will also join the company’s board of directors. Sacks was the founding CEO of Yammer and and a former COO at PayPal. Zenefits backers include Andreessen Horowitz, Institutional Venture Partners and Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto.


Financial tech platform Addepar racks up $50 mln

Addepar said Tuesday that it has closed $50 million in Series C funding. Valor Equity Partners and Yammer founder David O. Sacks led the round. Other investors included Formation 8 Partners, Stanley Druckenmiller and Harrison LeFrak. Headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., Addepar is a financial tech platform.

STG’s Findly hires new SVP of customer success

Findly, a portfolio company of Symphony Technology Group, has hired Samantha Loveland as senior vice president of customer success. Previously, Loveland worked at Yammer where she served as vice president of worldwide customer engagement. Based in San Francisco, Findly is a talent platform.

Reuters – Microsoft Close to Buying Yammer

Microsoft is close to buying business software company Yammer for more than $1 billion, according to Reuters. Backed by PayPal co-founder and Facebook investor Peter Thiel, Yammer said it counts more than 80 percent of Fortune 500 companies as clients. Yammer Raises $10 Million

Yammer, a San Francisco-based provider of enterprise microblogging and real-time communications solutions, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. Emergence Capital led the round, and was joined by SV Angel and return backers Charles River Ventures and Goldcrest Investment.

Jason Green of Emergence and Ron Conway of SV Angel are joining the company’s board of directors. No mention of Founders Fund, which participated in Yammer’s $5 million Series A round.
