Tanya Heath has joined the Paris office of RainMakers Private Equity, a secondary advisory firm. She will serve as a vice president, and previously worked with JWare Technologies.

RainMakers Private Equity, a specialist secondary advisory firm announced today that it has hired Tanya Heath as vice president in its Paris offices.

Ms Heath brings to RainMakers a solid mix of strategic consulting, international business and technology skills.  She has over 15 years of experience including 8 years as a director with several venture-funded companies in France where she participated in strategy and fund-raisings.  In her most recent company, JWARE Technologies, Ms Heath was instrumental in placing them as finalists in the most recent edition of the French Tech Tour.  Tanya has also been a visiting professor at Central Paris, one of the leading engineering schools in France where she has been teaching a class on the marketing of innovation for the past 8 years.

Prior to her work in the French high-tech sector, Ms. Heath was a management consultant with Gemini Consulting (Now part of the Cap Gemini Group) in the strategy division where she completed various assignments throughout Europe in the telecommunications and energy sectors.  Ms. Heath began her career in Ottawa, Canada where she worked in policy planning with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

“I am delighted to be joining RainMakers Private Equity, an innovator in the secondary space,” Ms. Heath said. “The Paris office presents significant secondary opportunities due to the quality of many of the companies that have received venture funding yet have not been able to achieve a typical liquidity event. My goal is to spread the word that secondary's aren't about failure anymore, a perception that lingers and is wrong, its really about portfolio management and we are here to propose the most appropriate secondary vehicle to Parisian GPs so that they can optimize their time and resources to deliver superior returns to their LPs.

“We are very pleased that someone with such a strong cross-Atlantic flavor and a real mix of hands-on and theoretical experience has joined our team,” said Jim Soleymanlou, founding partner of RainMakers Private Equity. “Her skills, and especially her ability to innovate and create opportunities are complementary to the Rainmaker's franchise and we look forward to further expanding our Venture fundraising and recapitalization business with Tanya's expertise in understanding the value of technology and innovation combined with her ability to reach out to investors.

About RainMakers Private Equity

RainMakers Private Equity is an investment banking boutique focused on the recapitalization of private equity funds and secondary transactions.  Since 2004, RainMakers has distinguished itself by innovating in the secondary market, closing several sell-side, buy-side and GP-Side assignments and has built a reputation for timeliness, discretion and ingenuity.

In response to the twin pressures of greater time to a liquidity event for a venture investment and the increased difficulty to raise a new fund faced by many venture capital firms, RainMakers has developed the Fund Recapitalization. A Fund Recapitalization allows a GP to leverage an existing portfolio to raise new capital, refresh the LP base and buy more time for their investments allowing them to generate the highest level of returns for their LPs.  The GP retains management of the portfolio and has additional capital to make follow-up or new investments.

With offices in San Francisco and Paris, RainMakers Private Equity has an extensive network of relationships which span various segments of the asset class, in the United States, Europe and the Middle East so that we can connect the most interested buyers with the secondary opportunities that we represent.
