TCW forms power, infra group to be led by former Babson Capital exec

The TCW Group has formed the TCW Power Group that will make investments in the power and infrastructure sectors.

The group is led by former Babson Capital executive Brian Daly. TCW Power Group has also hired Bill Cavers as a senior vice president. Davers will report to Daly. Both Daly and Cavers will be based in New York City. Daly will report directly to Jess Ravich, group managing director and head of alternative products at TCW.

Prior to joining TCW, Daly worked at Babson Capital where he served as head of the firm’s energy finance group. And before that, he was a managing director at TCW.

Previously, Cavers worked at a variety of senior positions that included GE Energy Financial Services where he led many of the group’s power and infrastructure investments. Also, he has worked at Macquarie Securities where he led its acquisition of Hawaii’s regulated gas utility.
