Los Angeles-based Thorofare Capital, a commercial real estate loan origination and servicing company, has named Denis Barreto, Jr as director of credit. Previously, he was vice president at Fifteen Group Capital LLC.

Los Angeles, CA (May 8, 2019) — Thorofare Capital, a Los Angeles-based national commercial real estate loan origination and servicing company, announced today that Denis Barreto, Jr. has joined the firm as Director, Credit based out of the firm’s corporate office in Los Angeles.
Barreto brings more than 12 years of experience in underwriting commercial real estate investments, including equity, debt and structured finance transactions to Thorofare’s multi-strategy platform. Over the course of his career, Barreto has worked on numerous core and opportunistic investments with an aggregate value in excess of $1.5 billion. He will report to Thorofare Chief Investment Officer Brendan Miller.
“Denis, with his diverse real estate equity underwriting background, is a valuable addition to our already deep credit bench which benefits both our investors and borrowers,” said Miller.
Previously, Barreto served as Vice President for Miami-based Fifteen Group Capital, LLC and also spent seven years at Jamestown Properties in New York and Atlanta where he focused on acquisitions.
Barreto graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2006 with a B.S. in Economics and a B.S. in Architecture. In 2011, he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. Barreto also earned an undergraduate certificate in Urban Development from Georgia Institute of Technology.
He is a member of the CFA® Institute and the Urban Land Institute.
