TorQuest’s Darin Brock becomes chair of ACG Toronto

Darin Brock has been named board chair of the Association for Corporate Growth Toronto (ACG), a Canadian private equity and M&A industry association. Brock, who has been an ACG board member for nine years, leads business development at Canadian private equity firm TorQuest Partners. Before joining TorQuest in 2006, he was the manager of business development at U.S. private equity firm Platinum Equity. Founded in 1971, ACG Toronto is the 3rd longest operating chapter in the global ACG network. The chapter’s day-to-day operations are overseen by President and CEO Mike Fenton, who joined ACG Toronto in 2015.

ACG Toronto, Canada’s Association for the Private Equity and M&A Industry Announces Leadership Transition

TORONTO, ON, June 27, 2018

The Association for Corporate Growth Toronto (ACG) announces a new leadership team for 2018 – 2019.

The following roles were confirmed at the Annual Meeting on June 27, 2018:
• Darin Brock – Chair of the Board
• Vaughn MacLellan – Vice-Chair of the Board
• Stephen Smith – Past-Chair of the Board
• Kyla Mahar – Secretary and Vice-Chair Governance
• Halyna Shribak – Treasurer
• Mike Fenton – President & CEO

ACG continues to develop new opportunities for our membership in business development, program content and thought leadership – as economic, political and international issues impact the mid-market investment industry in Canada,” said Darin Brock upon the announcement of his new role.

Darin Brock leads Business Development for TorQuest Partners, one of Canada’s original Private-Equity firms with more than $2 billion of equity capital under management. Mr. Brock has been an active Board member with ACG Toronto for nine years and Co-chaired ACG Toronto’s national conference – Capital Connection – for two years. Vaughn MacLellan, Partner at DLA Piper (Canada) LLP, a global business law firm, is the current Co-Chair of the 2018 Capital Connection and a Board member for the past two years.

After leading ACG’s longest-operating international chapter for eight years, Stephen Smith, will move into a new role as Past Chair. “The chapter has significantly expanded programs and membership in recent years, so it is an appropriate time for this new leadership team to expand the profile of ACG Toronto in Canada and throughout the global network of 58 ACG Chapters,” expressed Stephen Smith.

The Chapter also elected the following Board of Directors for 2018 – 2019:
