Uncork Capital, a backer of unicorns Poshmark and Postmates, has raised $100 million for its sixth main early-stage fund and $100 million for its second opportunity fund to back existing portfolio companies. Regulatory filings for the main fund and the opportunity fund, called Uncork Plus II, indicate a small amount of capital has yet to be raised, but a source said the funding is wrapped for each at $100 million. In mid-2016, the firm raised $100 million for its fifth main fund and $50 million for its first opportunity vehicle.
The firm, founded in 2004 and formerly called SoftTech VC, has realized such recent exits as Fitbit, August, Brightroll and SendGrid. It’s led by founder and Managing Partner Jeff Clavier and Partners Andy McLoughlin and Stephanie Palmeri.
