PRESS RELEASE

Diversified Trust Company announced that William T. Spitz and Carol B. Womack have joined its Nashville office as principals.

Bill Spitz is a co-founder of Diversified Trust and has served as a board member since the company’s inception. After retiring as the Treasurer and Vice Chancellor for Investments at Vanderbilt University in the summer of 2007, Spitz began taking a more active role at Diversified Trust. “I have enjoyed being associated with Diversified Trust since its inception. In the past fifteen years, the company has progressed and developed key areas of expertise which I believe will enhance our suite of services to a growing base of clients,” said Spitz. “I am very optimistic about our future.”

During his 22 years at Vanderbilt, Spitz presided over a ten-fold increase in endowment assets and achieved consistent top quartile performance among peer institutions. Prior to joining Vanderbilt in 1985, he worked in several capacities on Wall Street. He received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Spitz also serves on the Board of Directors of Mass Mutual Financial Group, Acadia Realty Trust and London-based Cambium Global Timber Fund. In addition, he serves as a member of the Investment Committee for Oxford University in the United Kingdom and as a Trustee of Kenyon College in Ohio. He is the author of “Get Rich Slowly: Building your Financial Future Through Common Sense” and has received the Rodney H. Adams Award for contributions to the field of endowment management and the Hirtle Callaghan Award for Investment Leadership.

Prior to joining Diversified Trust, Carol B. Womack spent 23 years at Vanderbilt University, most recently serving as Managing Director of Private Markets and working closely with Spitz in the management of the $3.6 billion endowment fund. In that capacity, she had responsibility for a diversified portfolio of venture capital and leveraged buyout investments spanning multiple strategies across the global markets. She also served on the advisory board of seven private equity funds. Womack began her career in public accounting at KPMG. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University, and also received an MBA with honors from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.

“As we continue to expand our presence throughout the Southeast, we are confident that Bill and Carol’s collective expertise and commitment to excellence will provide added value to our clients. Their significant experience and dedication to sound investment principles are consistent with Diversified Trust’s philosophy and we are thrilled to have both of them on board as part of our team,” said Chief Executive Officer and Principal Larry H. Bryan.

Earlier this year, Diversified Trust celebrated its 15(th) anniversary as a comprehensive wealth management firm based in the Southeast and has over $3 billion of client assets under management. The company’s client assets under management have tripled from five years earlier. Diversified Trust is 100% employee-owned with 16 principals and a total of 45 employees.
