VC-backed AppFirst announces new hire

AppFirst said Monday that it has named Bob Fox as director of solutions architecture. Prior to joining AppFirst, Fox worked at Splunk where he served most recently as manager of global technical enablement. Based in New York City, AppFirst, which is backed by FirstMark Capital, First Round Capital, Javelin Partners and Safeguard Scientifics, is a provider of operational intelligence solutions.

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AppFirst, a leader in operational intelligence solutions providing visibility across the IT ecosystem, announced today that Bob Fox has joined the company as Director of Solutions Architecture. Fox joins AppFirst after spending seven years with Splunk where he served as a sales engineering manager and, most recently, manager of global technical enablement, training and facilitating its global technical sales force.

Prior to his tenure at Splunk, Fox served in technical, pre-sales capacities at both Sun Microsystems and Veritas Software. He has also held operational positions in infrastructure, networking and data management at several financial services and dot-com firms. He holds a BA in Computer Science from Ithaca College.
