PRESS RELEASE
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Aug. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Infinio, inventor of downloadable storage performance, today announced that industry experts Darren Thomas and Mike Tuchen are the first members of the company’s advisory board.
Thomas’s depth of storage experience includes his recent position as general manager and vice president of Dell’s multi-billion dollar enterprise storage and networking divisions, where he oversaw five acquisitions, including EqualLogic and Compellent. Prior to Dell, he built Compaq’s storage business to a market leadership position. A strong supporter of industry standards, Thomas was instrumental in founding the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA).
Tuchen was most recently CEO of Rapid7, known for its self-service, downloadable software business model and rapid revenue growth selling to IT professionals. Earlier in his career he held progressively responsible positions at Sun Microsystems and Microsoft, and he is a sought-after advisor to companies including Paradigm4, ThousandEyes, and BitSight Technologies.
“We’re honored to have the advisory support of these industry experts behind Infinio, and look forward to their input and counsel as we continue to grow,” said Arun Agarwal, Infinio co-founder and CEO. “Darren and Mike have been where we are going, and their experience will be an important asset to us.”
Infinio is developing software to address the most expensive bottleneck in virtual environments: storage performance. Unlike other products that require SSDs or flash cards to accelerate NAS performance, Infinio offers a true software-only solution for maintaining storage performance as virtualized environments scale.
