PRESS RELEASE
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nebula®, the private cloud company, today announced the appointment of industry veteran and former Veritas Software chairman and CEO Mark Leslie to the company’s Board of Directors.
Mark Leslie, an investor and board member in various high tech start-ups and lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, designed and developed the first software hypervisor while employed at IBM in 1969.
“Nebula One is a game-changing product that all enterprise CIOs should have in their datacenter,” said Leslie. “Nebula’s world-class executive team has proven that they can deliver OpenStack as a turnkey appliance, and I’m looking forward to working with their team as we bring Nebula into every enterprise datacenter.”
During his tenure as CEO, Veritas experienced tremendous success—growing from 12 to 6,000 employees globally and growing yearly revenues from zero to over $1.5B, making it the 10th largest independent software company by revenue, third largest by market capitalization, and achieved the distinction of becoming a Fortune 1000 company. In addition to Nebula, Leslie serves on the Board of Directors of companies including Big Switch Networks and SugarCRM.
“Nebula is seeing tremendous momentum with new customers, new partners, and now, a key board appointment,” said Chris C. Kemp, Founder & CEO, Nebula. “Mark’s track record for growing small, innovative technology companies into international powerhouses and deep board experience will be a huge asset to Nebula as we continue to scale our business to meet the demand for our products.”
Nebula’s board includes Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers Partner Ted Schlein, Highland Capital Partners Partner Peter Bell, Comcast Ventures Managing Partner Louis Toth, Nebula Founder and CEO Chris C. Kemp, and Nebula Founder and CTO Devin Carlen.
